Here we go again. For the second consecutive season — a year after a 24-7 shellacking at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles — the Minnesota Vikings will spend Week 2 in The City of Brotherly Love.

Thursday will be another night game and another nationally televised contest. It also will be another major litmus test for the team that wears purple.

Much is the same. The Eagles still have vaunted linemen on both sides of the ball, while Jalen Hurts remains a dynamic quarterback alongside a plethora of talented skill players. The Vikings, meanwhile, possess a potentially dangerous offense — spearheaded by superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson — and an unproven defense.

But there are some differences this year. The Eagles boast a new defensive coordinator, Sean Desai, who interviewed for the same job with the Vikings, while the Vikings enter with new defensive coordinator Brian Flores. These additions, along with a number of personnel differences, complicate both teams’ pregame preparations. It’s not as simple as reviewing last year’s tape and countering.
