Twins promoting prospect Brooks Lee to majors: Sources

MINNEAPOLIS — The Twins are promoting their top major-league-ready prospect, Brooks Lee, according to multiple club sources.

An infielder at Triple-A St. Paul, Lee is the No. 13 prospect in baseball, according to

Lee missed the first part of the season with a herniated disc in his back. He hit .329/.394/.635 with seven homers and 21 RBIs in 94 plate appearances.

Though there has been no official word, Lee is likely up to take the place of injured infielder Royce Lewis, who exited Tuesday’s game against the Detroit Tigers with left groin tightness. Lewis was scheduled to undergo an MRI on Wednesday.

Following Tuesday’s game, Lewis said he’s not optimistic about the injury.
