In their first matchup of the 2023 season, the Steelers beat the Browns in Pittsburgh by a final score of 26-22. Pittsburgh’s offense was relatively pedestrian throughout the game. Still, their defense saved the day in the fourth quarter when Alex Highsmith striped Deshaun Watson and T.J. Watt recovered and rumbled for a 16-yard, go-ahead touchdown.
Kenny Pickett threw for 222 yards, a touchdown pass to George Pickens, and an interception. Pickens finished with four catches for 127 yards in addition to the score. Najee Harris rushed the ball 10 times for 43 yards.
For Cleveland, Watson threw for 235 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Jerome Ford had a monster day, rushing for 106 yards and scoring a touchdown through the air. Amari Cooper also added seven catches for 90 yards.
