New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is hopeful he’ll be able to play “two, three or four more years” in the NFL, he said on a recent episode of the podcast “Look Into It with Eddie Bravo.”
Rodgers made the declaration while discussing the status of his rehab from a torn Achilles tendon.
The quarterback said he’s in “a good place rehab-wise,” before adding “I’m hopeful I can play two or three or four more years.”
Rodgers, 40, qualified the comment by adding that “you need to have some good fortune in there too.”
Rodgers started the Jets’ season opener against the Buffalo Bills but tore his Achilles just four plays into Week 1.
New York acquired Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers in late April, trading their No. 13 pick this year, a second-round pick, a sixth-round pick and a conditional 2024 second-round pick that would’ve become a first if Rodgers played at least 65 percent of the snaps in 2023 for the four-time MVP.
Rodgers returned to practice within three months of having surgery on his Achilles, but with the Jets out of the playoff picture, did not return to game action. Throughout the season, he made it clear he planned on returning for the 2024 season, which is the last year on the restructured contract he signed with New York following the trade.
