Newcastle United were consistently inconsistent over the winter — and, during the 5-1 victory over Sheffield United on Saturday, they were consistently inconsistent inside the same 90 minutes.

After a woeful start, which could have seen Eddie Howe’s side trailing 3-1 at half-time, they blew Chris Wilder’s team away during the second half, rubberstamping Sheffield United’s relegation in emphatic style, even if the match could easily have ended 9-1 in their favour.

That win followed a limp 2-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Wednesday and now, with four games remaining, Newcastle are seventh, one place and one point behind Manchester United, who they must still play at Old Trafford on May 15 and compared to whom they have a vastly superior goal difference. Interestingly, despite being seven points behind Tottenham Hotspur having played a game more than them, some inside the club are actively talking about trying to chase down the fifth place the north Londoners currently occupy.

Yet off the pitch, questions remain about Bruno Guimaraes’ release clause, red-hot Alexander Isak’s long-term future, Dan Ashworth taking the club to arbitration and their search for his replacement as sporting director. Not to mention queries regarding the looming summer transfer window.

Post your Newcastle-related questions below and Chris Waugh will endeavour to answer as many as possible between 2pm and 3pm BST.
