Dylan Efron knows his most notable title is “Zac Efron’s younger brother” — and he wears the label with honor.
“I love my brother. I’m so proud of him,” Dylan, 33, told Cosmopolitan in an interview published on Thursday, February 13. “If anything, it’s helped me with my career, so I have no issue with people calling me Zac’s little brother.”
Zac, 37, has been a household name since 2006’s High School Musical with his lookalike sibling following in his footsteps by 2023 as they costarred on Netflix’s Down to Earth wilderness docuseries. Even when they are off-camera, the brothers remain tight.
“When Zac and I are on a call with our family, we confuse ourselves,” Dylan joked to the magazine.
Dylan, a travel influencer, is now branching out thanks to his solo stint on season 3 of The Traitors. While he noted to Cosmo his hopes to join another reality TV show, he also isn’t ruling out following Zac’s footsteps with scripted roles.

“I could definitely see myself doing more reality TV. If the right show calls, I’ll definitely do it again. I could see myself going into acting, too,” Dylan said. “I have so much respect for what my brother does, and I’m not going to play Ted Bundy [like he did in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile], but I think if there are roles that are similar to who I am.”
He added, “I could do a movie. I’ve always kept that option open.”
Dylan and Zac have both long touted their close bond. (They also have two younger half-siblings, Henry and Olivia.)

“My motto has just been FaceTime. I try to see [our younger siblings] as much as I can,” Dylan exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2023. “But really, I just think back and my brother was such a good brother to me and I want to be that for them. So it’s really just — I like thinking what they think of me and I want to be that presence for them.”
According to Dylan, he can’t wait to “teach them everything.”
“I’m waiting for them to get a little older,” the Peacock personality told Us. “I want to take them rock climbing, I want to get them outside. I know my dad’s going to be nervous about it, but as soon as they’re old enough I’m going to be throwing them in the fire. … [My idea of old enough] is a little different than my dad’s probably. I’m thinking about 8. I think once they’re 8, we’re going to be doing some road trips.”
