It’s been a real breakthrough year for Lando Norris, taking his McLaren into a serious title challenge and ensuring Max Verstappen has had things far from his own way over the second half of the season.
But following events in Brazil, even the Brit has accepted it’s just a matter of time before Verstappen completes a fourth successive title triumph.
Here is Norris, speaking yesterday from Las Vegas:
💬 “I kind of know the position I’m in now, and probably I have less to lose. Post-Brazil was a tough one for me because it was the first moment realistically when I’m like, it’s tough to achieve first position now.
“We were on such a good run of form, little by little… (but) it was hard to get any big points on Max, because he didn’t have any bad races.
“I had a tough week because things just didn’t go our way (in Brazil) and my real fight for the championship was slimmed by the biggest margin of almost the whole year.”
