Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, claimed that her Instagram account was hacked after she seemingly “liked” a news post about the recent lawsuit against her son-in-law Jay-Z.
“I was Hacked!” Knowles wrote in a Notes app message shared via Instagram on Monday, December 9. “As you all know I do not play about my family. So if you see something uncharacteristic of me. Just know that is not me!”
Knowles added in the caption, “Please stop playing with me !!!!”

Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, liked a post on social media about the recent news of the lawsuit accusing her son-in-law Jay-Z of rape.
Knowles, 70, was one of the likes on a Sunday, December 8, post from ABC7 Chicago that announced Jay-Z, 55, had been sued for rape. The Instagram post read, “Jay-Z, Diddy named in a lawsuit alleging rape of girl , 13.”

News broke on Sunday that Jay-Z has been accused of rape in a civil lawsuit along with Sean “Diddy” Combs. NBC News reported that the rapper (real name Shawn Carter) and Diddy, 55, were accused of allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000. The accuser, who has remained anonymous, claimed the assault occurred at an afterparty for the MTV Music Video Awards.

The lawsuit was originally filed in October in New York and only listed Combs as a defendant, per the outlet. However, it was refiled on Sunday to include Jay-Z. Jay-Z has denied the allegations and filed to dismiss the suit.
“My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” Jay-Z said in a statement to Us Weekly. “No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”
Buzbee is one of the attorneys who has filed lawsuits on behalf of several of Diddy’s alleged victims. He has previously claimed to be representing at least 120 of the disgraced mogul’s alleged victims. Diddy, who has been in prison since his September arrest, has denied the allegations. Diddy has been denied bail four times and currently remains behind bars until his trial, which is scheduled for May 2025.
Jay-Z later responded to the lawsuit with an emotional statement saying, his “only heartbreak is for my family.” (Jay-Z and Beyoncé, 43, have been married since 2008 and share three children: Blue Ivy, 12, and twins Rumi and Sir, both 8.)

“My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people,” Jay-Z said in a statement to Us. “I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.”
On Monday, December 9, Us confirmed that Jay-Z filed paperwork to dismiss the civil lawsuit “for lack of subject matter jurisdiction due to the plaintiff’s lack of standing.”
