One man who will be minding his P’s and Q’s tonight, hopefully, is Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa. The irascible Argentine was today given a five-game La Liga ban after insulting the referee following his red card during Sunday’s game at Getafe.
Correa, 30, has been suspended for one game for the initial red and a further four for the alleged language used towards referee Guillermo Cuadra Fernandez after his dismissal.
According to Fernandez’s official report, Correa said “son of a huge b****, piece of s***, mother-f*****” to the referee before he left the pitch.
All those five games will be served in La Liga meaning, as you might be able to tell from that training picture above, the forward is available for tonight’s Champions League game.
I’d like to see him try that with strict Pole Szymon Marciniak!
